May 26,2008 Howdy Pards!, We had a great shoot Saturday! The weather held out and we shot 5 stages "pot luck". Basically someone from the posse made up the stage when we got to it. It moved fast and was a lot of fun. We welcomed 2 guests, Erich and Tina Brockman. Erich shot his first match , and shot well. We hope to see them back in Deadwood soon. The results from Saturday are: 1st- Jingle Bob Ford - 111.28 (1st 49'er) 2nd- Cookie - 163.59 (1st Senior) 3rd- Lonesome John- 247.96 (2nd Senior) 4th- T-Joe- 262.75 (2nd 49'er) 5th- Blackwater Jack - 290.05 (3rd 49'er) 6th- Capt. I hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day Holiday. Remember the work day on June 21st and the monthly shoot on the 28th. In God we trust, Capt. George E. Cracker W.W.J.W.D.?
April 17th 2008 Greeting Pards! We had a Council Meeting last night. It was well attended and a lot of good new ideas came from it. I will try to give you some ideas from my notes: 1) There will be a No Alcohol Policy at Deadwood. 24/7/365 2) We will have a Work Day this Saturday April 19th. Blackwater Jack will be there around 8:00 AM, and someone should be there all day until dark. Please come out and help us do some work around the Club/Range. You are welcome to practice afterward as Safety Regulations permit. A punch list will be included below. 3) We will have our Monthly Shoot the 26th. We will shoot the “remaining” 5 3:10 to Yuma stages from Hot Lead. Lunch will be offered. 4) Dream Day is coming up May 3rd. We need some more Cowboys to come help us. It is a lot of fun and very rewarding. Contact Me or Barkeep if you want to “Cowboy Up” and help. So Far, we have firm commitments from Barkeep, Marshal Big Daddy Jenks (who might bring a posse of U S Marshals!) and Cookie. We have a “maybe” from Red River Rudy and Cajun Sheriff. This is a great way to support your SASS Club and a good cause at the same time. 5) Immediately after every shoot, the posses will walk the ranges, pick up spent shells/cartridges and moves targets to the appropriate areas.
Things to do list
- Remove trash/scrap from range and town - Paint Targets, (3:10 stages first… Train thru Graveyard) - Weed Eat around stages/targets ….bring ‘em if you got ‘em - Secure steel band on Whiskey Barrels….screws - Use Blower to clean interior rooms of the town. - Cut hole in chest of Wooden cowboy larger. Jigsaw, sawzall - Kill antz!!! Bring poison if you can. - Move and stack sheet metal - “Round up” weed killer around town….bring some if you can
That’s it for now! Ride Strong and I hope to see you in Deadwood.. “In God we Trust” Captain George E. Cracker
